In their eyes

On a shelf in my office and also here at home on a side table sits a plaque my sweet daughter in-law gave me a couple of years ago, it says " Grandchildren fill a special place in our heart that we never knew was empty".

It is so true! Last week we were able to go to Salt Lake City to see our son in-law for his surprise 30th birthday party planned by our daughter. HAPPY BIRTHDAY NATHAN! Sorry I am so slow at making this post, I was interrupted and didn't get back to it.

At the party we were able to spend fun time with the Grandsons, each is so unique and as you look into their eyes you see their personality shining through. I want to tell you some of the things I see in there eyes and that give me a smile all the time.

Lucas (5), is a social guy through and through, he especially loves spending time at this party with the Thomas little cousins who were there. He was the champion of air hockey. He was easy to find, because he was hanging out with the other kids at all times. He acts much older than he is, especially with older kids. Everyone is always surprised he is only 5 as he is very tall for his age. He is so smart and remembers everything ever said. You have to be careful not to mention anything you are just thinking and haven't decided for sure because he makes sure and reminds you of what you said. He is going up so fast, it seems just the other day to me that I became a Grandma when he came into the world at little early and so tiny.

Kody (2) is a little shy at first and likes to hang around Mom and Dad or Grandpa and Grandma, only until he gets warmed up, then you need to watch him because he is very quick can get away fast. He thinks he is as big as Lucas and loves to do everything his big brother does. He likes to see how things work and was thrilled at the party with the arcade games, not only to play them as much as to climb all over them to see how they work and how to play them. He loves money in his pockets and quickly tried to put his pennies from his pockets into the money slots on the games. He has the greatest laugh and it is very contagious and makes you laugh when you hear it.

Talon is very alert of what is going on around him, and you can see in his eyes his brain turning about how you do things. He learns really quick and you don't have to show him twice because he figures things out fast on his own. He is quite the talker and repeats everything said. He seems polite especially when you hang around other kids and hear the way they talk to parents and others. He loves his Mom and Dad, but likes to be with Grandma and Grandpa too which we are very happy about. He has a couple of cousins that like to pick him up and try to carry him because he is the youngest Thomas cousin, but he is very tall for his age and he seems way to tall to still be a one year old (almost two in May).


Ryker our youngest Grandson will be turning one next month, he is so fun. He likes to snuggle right down in your neck and he likes his Grandma (YEAH). Hewill always come to me even though we don't get to see him very often. He plays good alone and seems content most of the time to watch what is happening from his stroller. He isn't quite walking yet so letting him down to crawl on the public floor wasn't an option this time. He has such dark eyes, I think they are beautiful. He is very good natured which is a good thing because he is continuously bothered by his two year old brother.

It was a very quick trip for us, up to Salt Lake on Saturday on home on Sunday, which isn't the best for Steve's health, but because of weather and work, we couldn't make it any different and we sure didn't want to miss this birthday party and also a chance to see the loves of our lives, these little grandsons of ours and look in their eyes. We are very blessed.
